Count Play Level Up
Count play level up is a fun way to work on rhythm and counting using a 8-bit video game theme. The way I would always use this series is to count and clap, then play. I would also make sure to use as many ridiculous video game puns as possible, especially when completing a level or if mistakes were made (i.e. THE GOOMBA GOT YOU!!). Kids always liked this and it was a different way to work on rhythm.

Dissecting the Beat
Pop Rhythms
I began developing the "Pop Rhythms" Series to specifically emphasize the rhythms seen in pop culture music (pop, rock, hip-hop, jazz, etc). The idea is that if you spend enough time playing these types of rhythms, they'll be easier to read in context. "Pop rhythms" aren't really that difficult, standard/classical literature just doesn't typically use them as much. Not to mention, pop artists don't typically read the rhythms, they just sing or play them aurally.
Pop Rhythms - Upbeat Practice
This is a series I developed to practice how upbeats feel. Students in groups or individually can watch and clap along. It is designed to give some variety to rhythmic learning. Students may need to watch a few times to get the "feel" of it, but it can be an engaging option when teaching upbeats.

LoFi Upbeats
Kids seem to like the "Lofi" thing these days. This is a chance to practice some upbeat rhythms while playing along with a Lofi accompaniment. I apologize for the "band keys..." If this is a resource people really enjoy, I can adjust at some point. Just let me know :)
